I'm pleased to be teaching Modified Language Arts at Barton Creek this year. This will be my ninth year teaching at Barton Creek and I am excited to help each child meet his or her fullest potential.
I found my love of teaching after a career as a Social Worker in child welfare. I earned an undergraduate degree from Hardin-Simmons University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America. Since coming to BCE, I have become certified in Levels 1 and 2 of Wilson Language Training, making me a Wilson Dyslexia Therapist and I completed the yearlong Eanes Writing Institute, concentrating on using the Writer's Workshop model in the modified setting.
My husband and I have three girls, Katharyn, a graduate of UT and SMU Law, Caroline, a graduate of Clemson University, and Sarah, a 3rd year at the University of Virginia. I enjoy cooking, reading and gardening. Looking forward to a great year!
